It’s been a week since we launched the Strat7 AI Innovation Lab, and we haven’t stopped for breath! Our focus has been on two main things: making our internal LLM better and building quick prototypes to show what AI can actually do in practice.
Our internal LLM: getting better every day
We’ve made real progress with our language model. The team’s been working hard to make it available to everyone across STRAT7 while making it much more accurate. What started as a tool that sometimes gave confident but wrong answers has become something we can actually rely on to give thoughtful, accurate responses.
Rapid prototyping: bringing ideas to life
One of our biggest wins has been helping bridge the gap between our tech experts and everyone else. Our quick prototyping has been crucial for helping non-tech colleagues see their ideas take shape.
These prototypes are worlds away from the punch card systems I mentioned in my first blog. Back then, we’d spend days on simple programs. Now we can create and refine sophisticated AI tools in just hours.
Ethical AI: doing it right
I’ve also been focused on making sure our AI development follows strong ethical guidelines. This technology is powerful, and we take that responsibility seriously.
We’ve created our own AI Principles centered on being transparent, fair, and accountable. These help us think beyond what’s possible to what’s responsible. We want AI that enhances what humans can do without taking away human control or perpetuating biases.
What’s coming next
In future blog posts, I’ll be diving into the nuts and bolts of how we’re actually building these systems. Expect some (occasionally) technical deep dives into our tech stack—what frameworks we’re using, how we’re deploying models, and the infrastructure that makes it all possible. Don’t worry, I’ll keep the technical jargon to a minimum, but for those who are curious about what’s under the hood of our AI systems, these posts will give you a peek behind the curtain.
As we head into week two, we’ve got plenty on our plate. AI keeps moving quickly, and we’re committed to staying ahead while sticking to our values.
The jump from those early computing systems to today’s AI tools is pretty amazing. But through all the changes, we’re focused on creating technology that works for people and reflects what matters to us.
What AI developments would you like to see from our lab? Are there specific technical aspects of our work you’d be interested in learning more about? Database systems? Vector embeddings? Deployment strategies?
And what about AI innovations more broadly—are you interested in seeing advances in multimodal systems that can process text, images, and audio together? Or perhaps AI tools that can help with complex decision-making? Maybe you’re curious about how AI can enhance personalisation without compromising privacy? Let us know what topics you’d find most valuable, and what AI developments you’re most excited about seeing in the future!
