STRAT7 launches Nucleus 2.0, its largest AI release yet

STRAT7 has launched Nucleus 2.0, the largest release of its proprietary AI platform since Nucleus was introduced across the group earlier this year.

Our Nucleus AI Hub is organised around three families of AI agents: Design, Discovery, and Impact. Together, they support projects from planning and fieldwork through to final outputs. Nucleus 2.0 builds on this foundation with a significant range of new capabilities.

The release gives consultants a more capable AI research assistant, adds direct analysis of quantitative data, and improves collaborative working. It also expands the range of outputs Nucleus supports, with podcast-style audio briefings rolling out.

Nucleus 2.0 is the culmination of more than two years of development and represents STRAT7’s largest investment in proprietary technology to date.

What's new

Embedding AI into everyday work

  • A more capable research assistant. Nucleus is more conversational and better at holding the context of a project, so consultants can develop their thinking through an ongoing exchange rather than a series of standalone questions.

  • Guided starting points. Ready-made prompts and examples help consultants apply Nucleus to specific research tasks, so it is quicker to get going.

  • Quant as well as qual. Nucleus reads SPSS files and Excel tables directly, opening up quantitative analysis the previous version could not do.
  • Better handling of complex documents. It works directly with dense PDFs and chart-heavy PowerPoint decks, cutting the time consultants spend preparing material for analysis.
  • New outputs, including audio. Nucleus is rolling out podcast-style audio briefings, giving clients another way to engage with and share a project’s findings.
  • Connected across STRAT7. Nucleus understands the group’s agencies and capabilities, helping consultants identify and bring in relevant expertise and approaches from across STRAT7 to deliver better outcomes for clients.

The release builds on a sustained, group-wide programme to embed AI into the everyday work of consultants across STRAT7. The group has established a network of AI champions, delivered practical training based on real research use cases, and created a feedback loop through which consultants help shape the Nucleus roadmap.

Together, the technology, training, and cultural change enable STRAT7’s consultants to take on more ambitious work at greater scale, while creating more time for the interpretation, insight, and strategic thinking that clients value.

Client confidentiality remains central to Nucleus. It operates within STRAT7’s secure technology environment, client data is not used to train public models, and every client-facing output remains subject to human review. STRAT7 is ISO 27001 certified, and Nucleus is governed by the group’s FAST principles: fair, accountable, sustainable, and transparent.

“Nucleus is ultimately about what our consultants can do for clients, not the technology itself. This release expands the ways our consultants can use Nucleus and allows it to take on more of the groundwork, so they can spend more time interpreting the evidence, developing the insight and applying strategic thinking to clients' challenges. And there is more to come. We will shortly be sharing new ways for clients to benefit from Nucleus, alongside a broader new proposition from STRAT7.”
